    We have an exciting opportunity to join County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service as a Recovery Coordinator working in County Durham. You will be working with a team that is a multi-disciplinary recovery team comprising of colleagues from diverse professional and personal backgrounds. The team includes Recovery Coordinators, HOPE Workers, Sustained Recovery, Housing and Criminal Justice workers, Individual Placement Specialists and Volunteers. We are a supportive and welcoming team, who are passionate about supporting and promoting recovery for those we care for and within our local community.

    The County Durham service has recently been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC and is a great place to work. The service supports adults, children, young people and families across County Durham with drug and alcohol issues. The successful post holder will match our organisational ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service delivery across County Durham, engaging with local communities and supporting their priorities.

    About the role… 
    The role of a Recovery Coordinator is to manage a service user caseload, devising, implementing, and reviewing ongoing recovery plans and treatment, liaising closely with the full range of workers and skills within the service team, including family members and significant others as appropriate.

    You will help set goals in recovery and help the service user achieve their goals in a safe and supportive way. Recovery Co-ordination is a diverse and rewarding role.

    Working week: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, includes evenings and Saturday 9am – 12pm on a rota’d basis.

    Key Duties: 

    • Manage an adult caseload of clients with drug and alcohol issues, reviewing on-going care and treatment and liaising closely with a full range of workers and skills within the multi-agency team, including family members and significant others.
    • Devising, implementing, and reviewing ongoing recovery and treatment plans.
    • Facilitate and promote individuals’ progression from initial engagement, through structured treatment, to self-sustained recovery.
    • Reduce drug or alcohol-related harm to individuals and the wider community.
    • Working collaboratively with key partners and colleagues to achieve the best health and well-being outcomes for individuals.
    • Support with evening and weekend clinics when needed.
