YP Drug Awareness: Emerging Trends

In the digital age, sales of substances via social media platforms have reportedly increased reaching younger audiences. But, what does this look like? What can we do to help support young people accessing substances?

Energy drinks have become the most consumed drink amongst young people, and with its high level of caffeine and sugar, it may be no surprise that there are risks to consuming these drinks. Along with the increase of technology, we can see there are more and more accessible entry points to obtaining substances; from THC vapes and cannabis, to nitrous oxide, caffeine and other emerging trends.

Who could benefit from the training?

Do you work with young people or children in the County Durham area who may be using substances like cannabis and nitrous oxide, or may be consuming high levels of caffeine through energy drink consumption?

The training is available to any workers/volunteers within the County Durham area and may be particularly useful for teachers, school nurses or anyone working in education or health.
